What a joy it was to hear the telephone ringing at 02.45 on Sunday morning (the missus quipped when i finally awoke at about 11.00 am)
Being a private dick she employed me to investigate and my conclusions are, as follows:
Police are looking for someone called Lops, Loppy or scouse twat who gets parkinsons of the fingers after three or four sherberts.
There appeared to be other offenders as choruses of Chunk and Dykey's super Troggs army could be heard in the background. It sounded like a 14 seater minibus was involved which, if i'm not very much mistaken had not been puked in. The usual offender was, indeed legless with a broken leg and, i'm assuming, not there.
Lads, as a master of the late nite phonecall, certain rules should be adhered to. The time is critical (at least 5.00 am) and it should be New Years Eve.
Not a bad effort though cos you managed to piss the missus off so much she was too tired to argue about me watching the Liverpool and Man U games yesterday. See you next tuesday.
I know that, as a manager you have to distance yourself from some of the practices which mere players seem to find amusing.
I can assure you that you and your illustrious assistant were never in the frame.
You will have my vocal support at Hythe on Sunday the 26th.

THIS IS A LOCAL DERBY, AND WITH LAST YEAR'S VICTORY, EXPECTATION AND THE SIZE OF THE CROWD WILL BE HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR. I'M CONFIDENT YOU CAN DEFEND THE TROPHY BUT IT WONT BE EASY. START GETTING THE BOYS FOCUSED NOW. THE EAGLES GAME SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE THE FINAL AND PEOPLE SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR THEIR PLACES AND THE CHANCE TO REPRESENT THE MIGHTY TROGGS IN ANOTHER FINAL.

Yeah we all need to put it in right from the off and never sit back in the Final. We need the sort of effort and team sprit that we had in the semi against Egerton. Grrrrrr
