There have been signs of discontent in the Smudge camp for the past week and a half. The New Kit has been causing Mrs Smudge a lot of grief. As the Troggs will remember, the New Kit had its debut on a particularly muddy (albeit gloriously semi-final cup winning) day. After relentless soaking, scrubbing, washing and stain removing, Mrs Smudge was this morning overheard muttering, "At this rate I won't be able to afford next year's season ticket I've spent so much money on washing powder". As the Troggs' most dedicated fan, this is a sorry state to be in. Knee deep in dirty socks and the house covered in New Kit, she has the sympathy of all the other footballers' wives. From now on she will be forgoing her post match lemonade at the Flyer in order to start up a Kit Fund for the next time she is lumbered with the muddiest kit of the season.

Message for Log:
Dear Log,
I am very disappointed to learn that you are the owner of the "stained" boxers. I know you are the baby of the team but I thought you would have been toilet trained by now.
Do not worry; your boxers did not see the inside of my house; they were swiftly identified and thrown on the fire.
Please ensure that the next time you play you are equipped with a nappy.
Yours, affectionately, Mrs Smudge |
