Market put six past the Troggs at cornes meadow as the slow start to the season goes from bad to worse. Troggs will be desperate to get something out of their next two games against Highfield in the league and Charing in the cup.
Market certainly turned it on after I thought we had had the better of the opening 25 mins. Their finishing was clinical and we were punished heavily for making the decision to try and get back in the game when we were 2-0 down at half time instead of going for damage limitation.
However, I felt as though both collectively and individually we lost a lot of character when it was clear that we were on a loser.
At times like that there are two ways you can go - you can either lay down, hide and get done by 6 or 7, or you can roll your sleeves up and show what you are about by trying to assert yourself back in the game.
Not enough of us imposed any real authority on the game in the second half and for me seeing the opposition laughing and joking about what was going on was the worst part.
I also think we need to establish what are strenghths are and play to them. I would like to think that we have the ability to play it out from the back, but if we don't then is a more direct route a better option?
I think Roffey is more effective as a wide man running at the full back, and the same could be said for Andy Adamson - but that then relies on midfielders filling the box, which maybe we don't do well enough.
Defensively, I think we have some good individuals but someone needs to be taking charge, both vocally and organisationaly.
Anyway - it's only a game lads and worse things happen at sea as they say, but lets get the victory this week that I feel we deserve.

good points well made tomo. Market were taking the piss a bit like you say. We need to stand up and be counted and become a threat again in this league. people didn't like playing us last year.
Adamson and Roffey wide...midfielders filling the box.... Are you gunning for a striker role there tomo!? _________________ Troggs Stats (Since 05/06):
No I'm no number 9 George, but I don't think we will score many goals this season unless we get players in the box. I know it can leave us a bit light at the back but if the full backs tuck in a few yards, and one of the midfielders sits a bit deeper, then that should allow the other two midfielders to bomb on a bit shouldn't it?
Either way, playing a sweeper or 4 at the back or having wide men attacking or midfielders getting forward will mean nothing unless we stand up to be counted in games, something we didn't do in the second half on Sunday.
I can't wait for the weekend.

I agree Tom I can't wait for the weekend, despite only playing right back sat and the second half last sun its good to be back-not my ideal involvement but I love it!... you realise how good football is when you are laid off for a while.
We're only missing Matty Dyke from last year and he was hardly prolific but was a good target man and held the ball well. I personally think Andy can be a target man, but then he's only available every other week and not playing this weekend. We have to play to our strengths as you say, perhaps that's numbers in defence, i.e. wingbacks then roff and moon up top and play through the middle using their pace, then if we've got 3 center mids, 2 of those can get forward whenever the ball is wide with the forwards or wing backs. shot gun bombing on.
Or, scrap that, I can play up top _________________ Troggs Stats (Since 05/06):
