Troggs coasted past Ashford Eagles this Sunday with an impressive 9-0 win at the Ridge.

From the outset Troggs fans expected a rout as Eagles presented a team sheet showing their top scorer Howard in nets for the first time in his career.

Troggs gaffer Loppy warned against complacency which had cost Troggs the points against Fox Sunday the week before.

It took half hour or so for the Troggs to really start firing on all cylinders before Marcus Pearce broke free and neatly chipped the keeper.  Pearce hammered home a second and inspired the Troggs, who had obviously been practicing lobbing keepers in training, to go on a rout.

The gaffer brought himself on for a tired Paul Newman in the center of the park on 60minutes and changed the game turning what was a tight 5-0 margin into a comfortable 9-0 spanking.

Amongst the goals were Roffey (2) Moon (2) R. Hollingsbee, Andy Adamson (with a cross), and Matt Dyke, on for the injured Pearce, finally slotting home his 17th chance of the morning.

Hapless Eagles succumbed to their second 9-0 defeat of the season and their 13th loss having now shipped 71 goals and picked up a lowly 2 points this season.

Troggs hold firm their second place spot after last weeks slip up against Fox, moving on to 31 points with an impressive goal difference of +36 second only to Bliby’s +50.

Next week sees the Troggs players travel to Swindon Manor where they will find the Sunday Premier’s third placed club Ashford Cavaliers waiting for the Ashford Charity Cup Semi-Final. With Dyke looking set to return from injury, Carlton and Dyer back from international trips and Leggis returning from club suspension Loppy yet again will be set to disappoint several players and have the fans discussing team selection long into the early hours.

If everyone remains available then Lops will 17 top players (including himself) at his disposal and each one of them rightly feels they could do a job in the starting line up. We all need to remember that it’s a tough job that we probably wouldn’t want to do (unless your Dan windy). 6 will miss out and those that do have to take it on the chin and show their support for a club victory and hopefully a second cup final of the season.
