The Troggs left it very late to steal the 3 points from Hamstreet this weekend. Gaffa Loppy made only one change from last weeks winning line up, summer signing Ryan Hollingsby in up top for the absent Moon.
Perhaps taking too much from their opening 4-0 stroll in the park, the troggs failed to sparkle in a first half which saw few opportunities carved out for either side. Hamstreet probably had the better of the play carving out a couple of one on ones only to be stopped by the outstretched legs and arms of Aaron Brown, the keeper picking up an ankle injury in one clash bravely preventing a goal.
Into the second half it was Hamstreet who drew first blood, their striking just rounding brown and scuffing against the post and in. The Troggs finally showed some character in the game as newman broke down the right and cut back off the keeper for Tommy Carlton to smash home in a instant reply. Taking the momentum with them the Troggs started to look threatening with Adamson coming close on a couple of occasions.
Into stoppage time and with a draw looking on the cards, Dyke found space on the right of the box and lofted a ball towards brother matt at the back post. A late call from Adamson and an emphatic volley later, Troggs were leading 2-1 minutes before the final whistle.
A hard-fought victory see's the troggs take the maximum 6 points 2 games in. Its always said great teams win when they are not playing well, lets just hope the troggs can up their game for sundays kent junior cup fixture.
