Well done for bouncing back with a gutsy performance on Sunday boys. We needed to steady the ship and keep the league campaign on track and although it wasn't the prettiest win this season it was a performance of character. There were lot's of stand out players but a big mention to log who took one for the team.

In what could have been a bit of a 'banana skin' match, the Troggs got back to winning ways by doing what they have been known to do better than most teams over the years. Work Hard.
The team started well for the first twenty minutes - clearly motivated by a stirring, yet emotional pre match speach. They then allowed Cavaliers to get back in the game - possibly due to a couple of injuries to the Smarden outfit - but the home team probably had the better of the rest of the first period with some decent crosses from the right causing problems.

During the secong half the two teams seemed to be cancelling each other out a bit with neither side creating many clear chances.
The game changed however on the hour mark with the introduction of a young substitute. His youthful enthusiasm and tireless drive instantly galvanised the Troggs as they quickly had chances on goal. Quite where this young whipper-snapper gets his energy is a mystery but it was no surprise when he was at the heart of the decisive secong goal.

Credit to Log for doing the decent thing when the Cavaliers striker was through on goal, and in tough conditions I thought everyone put an honest shift in. What we really need is for this weeks game to be on and for us to do exactly the same again. Work hard, take responsibility and keep the belief that we can get back to the top of the league.

By the way - a little teaser for you... do any of you younger generation know how the team got their name? Answers on a postcard please....

Nice work Tom. haven't been on all week i've had people ask me (people do read this forum just never post) who this new youngster is that the troggs have signed!!! I've kept it under wraps we don't want any big clubs coming in for him...

Good game last sunday deserved the win. Matt Dyke opener from a good ball in from leggis. Dyke Snr got the important second after finally catching up with the tireless Roffey and afforementioned youngster who were determined not to get a shot off and pass it around in the area waiting for the fat lad to slot home.

Troggs 3-5-2 wing backs: Brown, Bruce, Carty (Carlton 60), Lee, Leggis, Dyke, Newman, Eels, Gibbo, Dyke Jnr (Stocker 70), Roffey
Goals: Dyke Jnr 15, Dyke Snr 75
Assists: Leggis, Carlton
Yellow Cards: Leggis
Red Cards: Leggis
Official (cos we know him) MOM: Lee
Dream Team Star Man: Tireless Adam Roffey
