SMARDEN START SEASON WITH 4-1 DRUBBING

Smarden Made a confident start to the season under new manager Pete 'Loppy' Nayden, hammering 4 past Blue Eagles with only one in reply. Smarden set off with a tremendous pace, the midfield trio of Dyke, Carty and Jones cutting holes in the Eagles defence sliding balls through to the pacey Adamson and Roffey. It was Jones who eventually rounded the keeper to make it 1-0. Ben Gibbs added a second with a looping header over the despairing keeper from a Nayden cross. The Eagles were run ragged to the break and would have felt lucky to come in at just 2-0. The second half went much the same with Roffey deservedly notching the third and Adamson rounding off the rout. Eagles did reply with a late concelation but did little more to trouble Kitney and his impressive back three -loppy, pearl and adam. Newman Came off the bench returning from a 2 month absence but struggled to make an impact with his ankle still causing him trouble. Andy Jones picked up the MOM pointedly putting pressure on the absent Moon.

Smarden look to be up for this season and Loppy will rightfully be eyeing a title challenge.

Well done boys.
If you continue to show the same committment and attitude as you all did on saturday, this has the makings of a great season.
We played as a team and worked hard for each other.
It was the best local game i've watched for a long time!
I nearly did a sex wee!

Yep Stevo, I must concure. Great team performance. Sorry for coming on and spoiling the rout by not being fully healed. I will make it up with some goals!

Was pretty good wasn't it!!! With regular first teamers- Moon, Newman and Stocks to return as well, things could really be looking up under ol'shaky hands!

I don't think its too much after that peformance to start really thinking about winning the league. We've got a lot of good players and if we are up for it like that every week we should challenge anyone.

Only joking Spliffy. You've made that position your own. DW and Becket need to fight for the right to hold that flag, as Marcus will to get in the team. It's all good as far as i'm concerned.
