Probably the best goal i ever scored....It was a dreary saterday afternoon at Moat Park, but that didn't silence the playful giggle of children who swung in the playground, completely unmindful that nearby, on one of the plethora of football pitches, something special was brewing. Across from the swings, the game between Smarden and lewes was only two minutes in when tony carty took an attacking throw in. A poor defensive header meant the ball fell just inside the area and bounced up infront of the one player the lewes fans would have feared the most. Dyke swung a muddy left boot at the unsupecting ball and to everyones suprise caught it cleanly. The ball violently rose skyward but within an instant dipped visciously to sneak under the cross bar and nestled in the top corner like Tony Cartys balding head in the cleavage of a 28st woman. The keeper joined the rest of players and crowd alike by just standing in awe. Dyke himself looked shocked, no one expected this, least of all him....
It was pretty sweet, left foot as well. first touch. lovely.
