Rolvenden 1 Smarden 4Shit weather. Shit pitch. Shit facilities. Mad ref. Great result. The end............Only kidding. What a day in what could be the turning point of the season. Despite only 2 defeats this season, we've definately struggled to produce the form this side is capable of. All that changed on Saturday.
It started with the shock resignation of Lops. Shame to see Lops the manager go, but a welcome return to the most consistent defender of the past several years back to his ginger pubed best.
Which means a new manager. And that man is Steve"Steve-o"Oram. A man who's prove himself in the past. Guiding a Troggs side to cup glory against unbelieveable odds. Imagine what he can do with this squad? Probably the best squad of players for quite a while. Good luck Steve. We're all behind you.
Now, the match. The first half was pretty even. Shaded slighty by Smarden, who despite the crap pitch, played some nice, slick football. It was Rolvenden that take the lead though. A nice turn and shot from their big defender. It didn't take long for Smarden to reply. Despite the good football, the equaliser was a trifle route one. Deano twated it to Moony. Moony scored. Simple. 1-1 at half time.
The second half was all Smarden. 3 more goals and none like the first. All great, well worked goals. One for the ever improving Adam Roffey. And two more for Moony. Completing his hat-trick.
It was a very polished performance against a side which the gaffer pointed out, rarely lose at home. The whole team plus the subs played well. Special mention to of course Moony and also Log who was mustard.
This Saturday it's back to the bread and butter of the league. Home to Blue Eagles who always provide stiff oppositon. Play like we did against Rolvenden though and we shouldn't have a problem. The mighty 'Den are back.........

Glad your playing sundays now we can get a decent match report, id play you every week its got to be better than you running the line, cant even cheat to help us get a clean sheet.
