Smarden 0 Malgo 4A word of warning, if you were expecting a decent report. You ain’t gonna get one. I’m going to put as much effort into this as we did on the pitch Saturday.
The objective was simple. Win the remaining games and we get promoted. Considering the up and down season we’ve had, to have something to play for, this stage in the campaign, should have had us all buzzing. Unfortunately, we didn’t look up for it one bit. As one of our players said “This feels like a pre-season friendly” Indeed it did. Some people not putting any effort into getting warmed up. Just strolling round as if it was a nothing game.
The game itself was a bit crap. They got a lucky goal, due to the hard ground. The second and third goals coming from mistakes. Apologies for the second goal. 3-0 at the break.
The second half, much the same. No passion, no drive, no ideas. They got one more goal, to make it 4-0 and that’s how it stayed.
We have a cup game Monday. Please boys, let’s go out there and show Staplehurst what we can do. We’ve a gifted squad, just our attitude lets us down at times. Have the right attitude and you’ll get the right result. (Remember Otford?) Also, the league may not be over. Lets try to win the last three games and get third place. If the league do the right thing and throw them cunts from Addington out of the league. Second place is ours! HURRAH!
