Smarden 10 Blue Eagles 1

The Location- Cornes Meadow, Smarden.
The Target- Blue Eagles.
The Mission- To get back in the race for promotion.

Following last weeks heroics in the cup it was back to league action for the mighty 'den. This game was going to be a good indication to what Smarden will be fighting for in the second part of the season. Promotion to the Premier? or a relegation battle? Blue Eagles are a potentional banana skin. We defeated them 4-1 earlier in the season, but they have many good players, who given the oppourtunity can punish any side in the division.
It was a very disorganised start to the day with both the referee and the majority of the Blue Eagles players turning up shortly before the game was due to start. Anyway, the game finally kicked off at 2.06 and Smarden got off to their customary slow start. Despite this it was Smarden who drew first blood. Now i apologise in advance as there was so many goals, i have no idea who scored when. Before Blue Eagles could manage any meaningful attack, the score became 2-0. The Blue Eagles defence were not very happy, as they was convinced "The Maggot" fouled someone in the build up to the goal. So their left-back (obviously the brains of the team) thought it would be a good idea to call the ref, and i quote"a fucking cheat" Wise move. Surprise, surprise this resulted in a red card. As so often is the case in these circumstances, Blue Eagles played their best football, as Smarden took their foot off the gas.
So it came as no surprise when they pulled one back. Not alot to say about their goal, apart from it was no way, under any circumstances, the keepers fault Rolling Eyes
As it turned out it didn't have any significence on the final result anyway. And just before the break it was 3-1 to the mighty Den.
In the second half Blue Eagles threw caution to the wind and brought on their star striker, who also plays for Maidstone Reserves. Facing that kind of talent obviously scared the shit of the Smarden defence. Rolling Eyes If for any reason anyone wants to get hold of their star striker he can still be found occupying Adams pocket.
The second half as it turned out was all one way traffic as Smarden added an incredible SEVEN goals to their first half total. The goals being scored by Andy Adamson(4) Marcus Pearce(3) and Ben Gibbs, Richard Moon, Adam Roffey adding the gloss. It was without doubt the best performance of the season by Smarden. Who'll be briming with confidence before visiting top of the table Malgo next Saturday. Special mention of course to The Maggot and Marcus, but also yet again Log who had another storming game.
It was a near perfect day for Smarden, the only blot being their goal, but it was not as if anyone could of done anything about it. Embarassed
