Smarden hammered by leedsTinkerman Tim Archer, opted for an unfamiliar 4-4-2 formation with the suprise strike pairing of the Dyke brothers. The usual strike partnership of Moon (hamstring) and Law (cup final) were left on the bench along with Hollingsbee who missed out for the first time this season. Arch's plan was for the strikers to hold up the ball and utilise the pace of wingers Batt and Eels but the gamble didn't pay off as Leeds regularly broke smarden down. The late introduction of Moon and Law sparked some life into the side but it wasn't enough to prevent Leeds running out comfortable 4-0 winners.
Smarden will have to improve as they travel to Shepway next week and look forward to their cup semi with Woodstock park.
Smarden (4-4-2) Kitney, Dyer, Hodge, Loppy, Gibbs, Batt, Newman (Moon 60), Carty, Eels, Dyke Snr (Law 70), Dyke Jnr (Hollingsbee 60)
