Now I know this has been banded around before, but perhaps we were aiming too far afield... How about Brighton. I have mates there and can get us two games on a sat/sun pre season.

Brighton is only an hour and a bit away so I suggest we hire a minibus, get a travelodge near town, go friday night, have a few jars, play saturday, have lots of jars, play sunday, come home in the eve. Normal weekend away. Very Very doable.

Brighton is a good destination as its close and also a good night out. Don't be fooled into the down the pub image (response I actually received last night in flyer) "yeah its full o fuckin queers init" ... nice idea, i think we're big enough to realise its also full of birds, desperately short of straight guys.

So in principle, who is actually up for it?? I reckon we should aim to take around 16 playing staff. A mini bus full.

Just Phoned Travelodge Brighton... Picked a weekend in July -fri 13th and sat 14th.

3 adults to a room, so say we aim for 18 people, thats 6 rooms of 3.

£69 per room per night. so thats £23 per person per night, £46 for hotel.

Steveo... how would we get a minibus?? invite tony check?! Is anyone insured to drive one cos i'm sure we could hire one for a weekend for less than £250, I'd argue less than £20 each for minibus and petrol
so basically £60-£70 a head for the weekend before beers.

Thats not too expensive now is it chaps. And how many teams can say they go on pre-season tours?!

I'd like to put club social sec Steveo in charge of proceedings!!

What we need to do is to pick a weekend and make it happen. I'm shit with dates, so when is good, when is bad for people?!

Thats it lads get involved. We need to pick a weekend?? when would be good? do you think late july/early august. Anyone got holidays planned so we can avoid them

There are a few non playing staff reserves that I know will fancy the trip should we need to make up playing numbers like Tom Dyke, Chris Gibbs and I think former Troggs favourite Dogman fancies coming as a ref!
