cant believe we lost that today. fecking annoying. We can blame the ref all we want and he did change the game, but we should have closed another game out and we didn't. Fought so well to get back into it, played some good football and a much overdue mooney wonder goal should have won it. Somehow we need to start either putting games to bed and extending leads or just keeping hold of a lead when we've got it. am gutted.
Charing away next week. we need a cup run. Also stocks is back which will be a big boost _________________ Troggs Stats (Since 05/06):
Yep, it was annoying alright. We played some good stuff and the shape looked better, especially going forward but we paid the price for poor concentration in the last 15 mins. Up to that point we had been doing our jobs pretty well, but it all started getting scappy when we let decisions get to us We started wasting our energies on arguing and complaining and began neglecting our duties. Ultimately I think that cost us the win.
There are still some positives to take though - Roffey looked dangerous on the right, George did his job well up top and bought players into the attack and we managed to get more players forward which was one of the aims.
Simple things can be improved on so easily though
-get players marked earlier at set-pieces instead of strolling around the penalty box waiting to be told.
- know who is in the wall at free kicks and who is marking.
-know whose job it is to get on their keeper at our corners, who is attacking the ball and who is floating on the edge for scraps.
-don't waste time arguing with the ref, especially if we are defending at the time.
Each week there are more things we are doing right and I'm up the challenge of hauling ourselves from the foot of the table. (I did tweak a knee ligament though which is pretty sore today.)
A cup game could be a welcome distraction - but you can be sure that Charing will be fancying their chances of an upset based on our results.

good points tom, a big plus of having our actual manager back will be he can make those desicions you mentioned and will be screaming at us to keep the discipline. Not saying Chunk did anything wrong, but its always harder for an on the pitch manager and especially one who is only standing in.
I agree charing could be a welcome distraction where we can hopefully continue our good form going forward at least! Week off after that so your knee can have a rest then before a real 6 pointer away to brews on the 1st of oct.
I quite enjoyed it up top - which I haven't really done when I've played there before. Adamson is a better option there when available which should be this week and the brews game- he can do all the bits I did but has the turn of pace to get a few more shots off- think I only had 1 shot!
