Troggs slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to bliby in the league on sunday. With a long list of absentees including Dyke (arm), log (knee), Moon (stag do), Carlton (tennis), Stocker himself couldn't make the game and issued instruction for assistant ben gibbs to name the team. With pepper (flu) and Eelsy (not the face), pulling out an hour before kick off, the side looked slightly unfamiliar with the call up of 3 reserve team players in Pearce, Dogman and Potter.
Stocker went with Brown in goal, bruce in behind lee and loppy, dogman right wing back, gibbo left, midfield trio of carty, newman and pearce and dyke and roffey up top.
For the first half at least the team looked like one that wasn't used to playing together. Struggling to organise in the center of the park the Troggs were under some heavy pressure and despite several wonderstops from MOM brown one, they eventually succumb to the pressure on 30mins going 1-0 down. Despite being under the kosh several counter attacks were carved out with Dyke and Roff coming close for the Troggs.
Pearce took a knock and seemed to be struggling and had to swap round with matt dyke then to make matters worse Carty went down with a back spasm and had to come off shortly before half time for reserve team player of the year Charlie Potter.
At half time reserve team gaffa arch had a few words with the boys and it seemed to do the trick. Pearce had to drop back to sweeper with brucer moving into the midfield trio with Potter and Newman. Potter and Bruce both showed tremendous hard work and got the Troggs back into the game, the team looking a lot better all over the pitch. Potter found Roffey with one of several chipped through balls, who rounded the keeper wide only to place his shot into the side netting. Newman came close with 2 edge of the box strikes and also a quickly taken free kick which caught the keeper off guard but unfortunately just missed the far post.
Paul Burt got marching orders for Bliby on 75mins after an altercation with Troggs hard man Ben Gibbs but despite the extra man for the last 15 and a much better second half performance the Troggs failed to get back into the game and it disappointingly ended 1-0 to the visitors.
Elsewhere in the league Bromley green drew 2-2 with aldington and bethersden eased past hapless cavaliers as the chasing pack close the gap on the Troggs whose second spot looks severly under threat in the final week and a respectable 4th or 5th finish looks on the cards for the Smardeners.

We really need to make sure we don't do a cavaliers and capitulate. Don't think we will as we are friends that play footy together rather than people who became friends from playing footy together. _________________ Root baby root!
