I'm posting this on behalf of Fred who emailed this to me:

Jerry gave me your website as he is doing some work for my sister who lives in Charing. We started talking football and he told me to scope you out online.
Decided to drive over to Smarden and watch your team play on 19/9. Actually that was a hell of game, especially as you guys dominated the first 30 of the 2nd half and scored a beautiful goal, but couldn’t believe you let them take control with 15 mins left to get another one by you.
Anyway…was sharing your website with my Over 30 and Over 40 team here in North Carolina and wanted to share the pictures of the wheel barrow full of empties, as well as your naked player in the high street…any chance you could post those back on your website?
Cheers from the US……we’d love to come over a play a match with your older players.
Trying to set something up for a bunch of us to come over in 2010.
Thanks to the internet…the world gets smaller every day.
Absolutely……post away to your forum. Will the pics be there, or can you send them to this e mail?
I must say you guys have an incredible website.
Although we live in a high tech area in North Carolina (Research Triangle Park which is Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) our website is quite weak compared to yours. J
Our League website is www.tasl.us feel free to have any of your chaps check it out. My teams play in the Over 30 and Over 40 divisions.
We have over 125 teams in 12 divisions
Individual teams use what is called Team Snap. www.teamsnap.com (if you are interested to see it can do…they have a free trail offer)
If you are really interested…let me know, and I will send you access to our club’s account.
I grew up in London as a kid of American parents in the 60’s. Went to a school at Sunningdale, but did so badly on my CE….that my dad said he was disgusted with me and packed me off the US when I was 13. When I moved to North Carolina with my family 15 years ago…I started a team called Phoenix….name after the mythical bird that evolves from the ashes (of old age) into a stronger and more competitive bird of prey. Due to the area being so international, my players come from all over the world, and we play a much more of a touch game, than regular American soccer teams…that think footer is Rugby with a round ball.
I have two teams…Phoenix Over 30 and Over 40. I just turned 50…and am looking at a total knee a knee replacement…so can only coach and live vicariously through my lads. Both my teams are competitive tournament teams that travel around the Southeast US to participate in tournaments.
I don’t think we drink quite as much beer based on the picture of the wheelbarrow…but do try. (It’s probably due to that piss they call beer in the US)
Spitfire is still an old airplane in this country!
Had a good dinner on my last night at the Flying Horse before I left, and thought the bangers and mash reminded me of my old school days!
Do send the pics that were on your old site, my lads will definitely get a kick out of them.

Fred, thanks for the emails have replied with the photos but also wanted to show the emails on here with your permission and post the photos here.
The wheelbarrow of beer came from a tournament over in Egerton which, of course, we won and not only did we pick up the trophy but also won the barrow of booze in the raffle afterwards! Needless to say, that was a good afternoon
The naked man is Captain, former manager and general Club Legend (he now even sports a Troggs tatoo!!) -Paul 'Chunk' Newman. After one of our famous summer friendlies nicknamed Troggs-aid, Chunk managed to raise £75 in sponsorship/ dare money to run from the flyer to the bridge and back starkers. heres the timeless shots of that: (as you can see by the last one there were quite a few people watching as it was the day of an england game!)
Thanks for your email and for coming down to watch the mighty troggs. Steveo runs the vets team that i mentioned - he's away on holiday at the moment but i'll get him to post on here when he's back and i'm sure they'd be up for a game next summer, especially with a chance of a return leg in states!
Chunk-give the man a wave _________________ Troggs Stats (Since 05/06):
Hi Fred. Glad you enjoyed the game and the photo's. They made me laugh looking at them. Both days were very funny! Look forward to the 2010 friendly. Cheers, Chunk _________________ Root baby root!
